LifeLink was created to help bring renewal and revititalization to the spirit of communities plagued by generations of despair and neglect. Many of our communities in the greater Birmingham area have systematically deteriorated to a state of unhealthy, unproductive, dangerous breeding grounds for lawlessness and poverty.
Every community is a living organism, made of individual family units that are either strong and functional or weak and dysfunctional. These family units are either united with one another in vision, purpose and productivity or they are isolated due to fear, hopelessness and lack of motivation.
Each Alabama correctional facility is an individual community populated by a thousand or more men or women who are living a fractured life of despair with little hope of changing their perceived destiny. The majority of these individuals come from and will return to neighborhoods scattered across Alabama that mirror the same hopeless outlook for a rewarding future.
LifeLink's purpose is to be a catalyst for transformation in the communities that include our correctional system and our neighbors across town.
